genkernel problem

I have genkerneled all. but no chance for me to do something for gb2312. So how can I change the default setting for nls and iocharset for gb2312 in kernel level?

Please help me and thanks in advance!

This is my new gentoo system on usb hard driver. I can't emerge scim correctly. That's mean, No chinese input method available. Right now, I want to set local nls  and iocharset to be gb2312 in kernel. I can do that by "make menuconfig". But I don't know how to do after "genkernel all". Sorry.
