装好gnome但不能进入中文环境

我的是在GENTOO下emerge gnome版本是2.12.3,编译完成启动GDM后登录界面的LANGUAGE里找不到中文语言,只进入到gnome的英文界面,但浏览网页是可以显示中文的,是不是哪个设置文件出了问题?郁闷...
