安装rp-PPPoE出现了问题，无法解决~Help~

我安装的是Ubuntu新手指南上所说的软件用来拨号的软件~
一运行就出现下面的错误

Oops!  It looks like ./configure failed.


其中checking whether the C compiler (gcc  ) works... no是怎么回事情？
我使用 gcc -v命令看见我的 版本是4.0.2的啊，

我的系统是新装的Ubuntu 5.10啊
