对于只有低端机器的用户来说，用 gentoo 确实是一种折磨。
想想在8086，286, 386的机器上编译 gentoo
不过，有这些古董机器的人一般也会有最新的机器。
在双核双CPU的服务器上装 gentoo，虽然要比其它2进制发行版花费更多的时间，但这是值得的。

大部分（精选吧）我翻译好了。正如下面的兄第^说的 评论大大高于原文，有的评论给我们思想上很大的启发，同时那些说Gentoo不好的包括原作者也不是在抨击Gentoo。

个人觉得这篇文章写的不怎么样
外国人的文章也不是都好
gentoo在服务器上是麻烦，一般情况下我还是喜欢用RHAS
如果第一次接触这些服务程序那么不是很容易上手
如果你编译他们的次数和编译内核一样多，你就可以考虑在server上用gentoo了

谢谢版主俄，我的理解感觉作者想表达自己更新过以后，系统就出错了。然后1台1台的排错痛苦的情况 。  

难道你的服务器会整天更新？for what ? beryl ? :confused:
