problems with China-over-lay

2. emerge layman
3. sed -i -e 's/\(nocheck.*\)no/\1yes/' /etc/layman/layman.cfg
4. echo "source /usr/local/portage/layman/make.conf" >> /etc/make.conf
5. mkdir -p /usr/local/portage/layman
6. echo PORTDIR_OVERLAY="" > /usr/local/portage/layman/make.conf
7. USE="-nowebdav" emerge subversion
8. layman -f -a gentoo-china

but when I emerge eva, it shows:

there is no ebulids to satisfy "eva"

2. layman --sync ALL
3. Successfully synchronized overlay "gentoo-china"

Why can I emerge the eva? What 's the problem? Help Gunus.

你看看你的/usr/local/portage中有没有layman目录，里面有没有layman的设置文件，另外，设置文件中所指定的目录位置有没有存在。

echo PORTDIR_OVERLAY="/usr/portage/local/layman/gentoo-china" > /usr/local/portage/layman/make.conf

I run update-eix but got nothing, do I need to emerge it?

PS:I just install the gentoo, but not finished yet, so many troubles there, some of them are alsa still can't work, I'm in silent world now, and still don't know how to emerge chinese fonts, which fonts, etc.

you don't need to set it manually

you can easily chech whether you have a command or not by 'which', check man check.

if you don't have update-eix, then emerge eix.

most importantly, you don't need to ask it twice.
