我快崩溃了！！求助mysql的安装问题！！

我按照网上的教程用源码安装mysql时用./configure --prefix= /usr/local/mysql 后在/usr/local/mysql一个文件都没有，这是怎么回事呀？下面是我的返回信息

To start mysqld at boot time you have to copy support-files/mysql.server
to the right place for your system

PLEASE REMEMBER TO SET A PASSWORD FOR THE MySQL root USER !
To do so, start the server, then issue the following commands:
./bin/mysqladmin -u root password 'new-password'
./bin/mysqladmin -u root -h afu-linux password 'new-password'
See the manual for more instructions.

NOTE:  If you are upgrading from a MySQL <= 3.22.10 you should run
the ./bin/mysql_fix_privilege_tables. Otherwise you will not be
able to use the new GRANT command!

You can start the MySQL daemon with:
cd . ; ./bin/mysqld_safe &

You can test the MySQL daemon with the benchmarks in the 'sql-bench' directory:
cd sql-bench ; perl run-all-tests

Please report any problems with the ./bin/mysqlbug script!

with the command:

你的机器原来装过Mysql吧？
看INSTALL文件，按照其中的步骤就不会错！
实在不行装rpm版的！

说的都不对呀，楼主下的是二进制包，不需要再编译了，直接安装就行了。

同意，看法。
首先。你会不会运行msyql 怎么运行？
ps aux |grep mysqld
看有没有进程。
只看你编译，没看你安装。
在你的/usr/local/mysql 目录下是否有bin  include  info  lib  libexec  man  mysql-test  share  sql-bench  var这些文件夹。 启动命令在bin下。
启动服务器命令为mysqld_safe & 进入./mysql

我以前也用过，是可以直接执行的，在下面敲./mysql然后ps ax|grep mysql可以看到很多进程
