virtualbox安装debian5.0成功，如何修改debian桌面的分辨率？

在xp中用virtualbox安装debian5后，GNOME桌面的分辨率有点大，如何将分辨率设置为1024*768？
主菜单里的“系统－首选项－屏幕分辨率”选项不起作用。

是VBoxLinuxAdditions-x86.run这个吗？
我直接修改的xorg.conf。

应该是那个吧，运行后会自动编译安装的。在vista下用vbox安装过一次debian，后来还是把vista格了，用debian，现在是在debian中用vbox装xp。

虚拟机要在虚拟机中设置
XORG 好像不起作用,我的VM是这样的

我用的virtualbox，修改xorg.conf有作用。
安装增强功能后，窗口可以随意调。鼠标无缝切换。
vm也有同样的工具。
不起作用，不会改成“1024*768”了吧？
应该是“1024x768",x是字母x。

那在linux的vbox里面安装XP后，如何设置XP里面没有的分辨律呢？
我装好XP后的分辨率一直上不去，默认的没有1440*900,怎么办？

“控制”里面有“全屏模式”“无缝模式”“自动调整窗口大小”“自动调整显示尺寸”。
以前xp下vbox里面安装windows2000server，完成后分辨率只有680x480，颜色质量只有256，调成800x600后，全屏后自动跳到680x480，有一次居然自动退出。安装增强功能，全屏分辨率自动适应窗口。而且你用鼠标拖拉窗口大小的时候虚拟机会自动调整窗口大小和显示尺寸。
当然我没有在linux下用vbox安装过xp，我想应该也是可以的。
