I’m using SUSE 10.1 on a Dell Letitide X1 computer, I have many issues~~
One issue is exactly same with your problem……….
My laptop has 915GMS graphics adapter, the screen is 16:10 (1280*768 resolution)
I download the beta, Linux version Google Earth and installed it without any trouble, however, when launch this application, I get the same problem. I can re-fresh this app by minimal it and re-maximal it, however when I drop the may, the issue will reoccur.
As you can see, since my laptop is not in the standard 1024*768 resolution, SUSE 10.1 will help to load a software for the 1280*678 resolution. (In SUSE 10, I have to install and run it manually, otherwise, the laptop will be display as 1280*678). The software name is 915resolution OR 855resolution (same thing to me).
I believe this software causes the problem~
I tried to make Google Earth work in graphics “same mode”, issue persists.
OK, as a workaround, I installed wine 0.9.15 and then installed the Google Earth for win32 version.
I didn’t encounter much trouble for the installation, but the win32 version GE cannot startup.
The first time it startup, GE said something like “OpenGL mode is not supported by this computer, restart GE to make it work in DirectX mode”
I restarted it, and then the app will say “DirectX mode is not supported by this computer, restart GE to make it work in OpenGL mode”
Hehe, so I just gave up now~~ |
