这种更新portage的方法是否可行

我不想用emerge -sync更新portage。

这种方法是否可行：
下载最新的portage的snapshot（比如说这个：http://gentoo.channelx.biz/snaps ... 下旧的portage。
当然我会把旧的portage先删除，再解压新的到/usr目录。

这个方法可行吗？

emerge --sync不只是更新/usr/portage这个目录，它还会更新其它的一些目录或文件。
是这样的吗？

我就是这么干的
完了后emerge portage就可以了

解压缩的时候注意权限就好了，呵呵

为什么还要emerge portage呢？


还有，在gentoo的handbook有这么一句话：Do not alter any make.defaults file to tailor the USE variable to your needs: changes in this file will be undone when you update Portage!
它的意思是不是emerge portage的时候会自动更新make.defaults这个文件？

1、emerge sync
2、emerge --sync
3、emerge-webrsync
4、老式的emerge --rsync/rsync （凑数，赞一下）
5、删掉/usr/portage ， 下载snapshot包。 tar zxvf xxx.snapshot.tar.gz -C /usr/

不一定要吧。
除非是为了升级一下portage，emerge -u 一下。

是呀  emerge portage一次就可以啦  没有更新的话总emerge也没用呀
