Whenever I typed  
    export XIM = fcitx
    export XIM_PROGRAM = fcitx

my bash shell always responds with

    bash: export: '=': not a valid identifier
    bash: export: '=': not a valid identifier

It seems that XIM is not installed in my computer. Is it necessary for fcitx? What does fcitx need for it to run smoothly?

There shouldn't be any space betwen letters and '=' sign.
