fcitx cannot be used

when i use fcitx in xterm ,it print "gbk-0".
and it cannot be used in firefox too

oh,i  use  the debian linux.maybe the .deb has some problems.
i will try to down the src of fcitx and try again.

I hace problem with the fcitx too, my OS is Debian, and I have installed it by using apt-get install fcitx. My problem is that,the fcitx seems work well,but it can't put the chinese into the blanks

you said ,it can't put the chinese into the blanks,then you close the fcitx,can you use the CRTL_SPACE keys to open/close the fcitx again???
