need to configure it!

To help you a bit, I am now going to create the needed MySQL databases
and start the MySQL server for you. If you run into any trouble, please
consult the MySQL manual, that you can find in the Docs directory.

To start mysqld at boot time you have to copy support-files/mysql.server
to the right place for your system

PLEASE REMEMBER TO SET A PASSWORD FOR THE MySQL root USER !
To do so, start the server, then issue the following commands:
./bin/mysqladmin -u root password 'new-password'
./bin/mysqladmin -u root -h localhost.localdomain password 'new-password'

You can start the MySQL daemon with:
cd . ; ./bin/mysqld_safe &

You can test the MySQL daemon with the benchmarks in the 'sql-bench' directory:
cd sql-bench ; perl run-all-tests

Starting the mysqld server. You can test that it is up and running
with the command:
./bin/mysqladmin version

好像是 说已经是2进制包了,执行就ok了,但是
chown -R mysql:mysql /usr/local/src/mysql后还是不行.
已经groupadd mysql
useradd -g mysql mysql
了.

先运行mysql_instal_db,再运行mysql.server在运行myql

谢谢!不过10分钟前,我到底支撑不住,卸了 .改装rpm版本的 .结果更糟糕!
rpm -e MySQL-server-4.0.20-0.i386.rpm不好用!!报告没装上!
我 这个linux9怪怪的,都说rpm -q mysql就应该能报告的.结果非要
rpm -qal|grep mysql  才报告server装了.
我rpm -ivh xxxx.rpm倒是很老实.立刻告诉我已经装了!
现在是怎么删除掉?别告诉我 用--nodeps (估计用了也不好使)
