Next Full Release (4.4.0)
The next full release of XFree86 will be 4.4.0. The schedule for this release is:

Feature freeze: 15 October 2003.
Code freeze: 28 November 2003.
Release date: 15 December 2003.
The feature freeze date is the date by which new features need to be submitted to XFree86 in order to be considered for inclusion into the release. Submission by this date does not guarantee inclusion.

The code freeze date, the phase we are currently in, is the date after which only serious and/or security bug fixes are accepted.

The release date comes with the usual disclaimers: XFree86 is a volunteer organisation and the schedule may vary with unanticipated changes in resource availability or other circumstances.

New development snapshots of this release are available bimonthly, and the current development code for this release can be found on the trunk of our CVS repository.
