I know the reason is because gcc3.3.6 does not support pentium-m. How to set the make.conf to use -march=pentium-m when using gcc 4.x.x and use -cpu=pentium4 when using gcc3.x.x?

Why does it needs a gcc-3.3.6-r1? After I changed the mcpu=pentium4 to emerge gcc3.3.6-r1, now I change back to march=pentium-m to continue emerge firefox, no problem.

gcc-3.* doesn't support k8,so i changed it to i686,then everything is ok!

You guys don't need to emerge gcc-3*, just emerge libstdc++-v3, this pacakge will enable you to use gcc-4* while support the codes which base on gcc-3*.
You can make a further reading on "gcc upgrade guide" on the offical document list.

This problem is not caused directly by my emerge gcc but caused by my emerge firefox. Why firefox needs gcc3.3.6 not only libstdc++v3?

The problem is not caused by directly emerging gcc but by emerging firefox(btw, mozilla-fireofx or mozilla-firefox-bin?). Why firefox depends on gcc3.3.6 but not libstdc++-v3?

mozilla-firefox不依赖gcc3.3.6
我的系统里已经没有gcc3了
