有人用 ati 7500 的吗？没有官方驱动，不知道怎么装驱动呢？

我用 KNOPPIX 启动的时候，发现硬件加速是开启的了，于是我用 lspci 查到驱动的名称是：radeon

但是我自己装系统的时候总是不能开启硬件驱动，压根没有 radeon 这个模块。
按照 handbook 的说明是要装非官方驱动的，但是按照它的说明一步一步做，重新编译内核，到装 x11-drm 的时候又编译不过，发现用 Linux 的郁闷就在于照着别人说的步骤去做却总是不成功。Linux 做桌面系统这么难普及，也难怪。

昨天我 emerge xorg-x11 重复两遍了，总是在漫长的编译快要结束的时候才告诉我某某文件有个不合法的类型转换，编译失败。可是今天无缘无故又编译成功了，我并没有更新 portage 和 内核。真晕死。于是我想开启显卡的 3d 加速，可是发现原来是没有官方驱动的，下回再不买ati显卡了。

ATI有官方驱动……不过能不能支持7500的3D加速就难说了……

Thanks. But I don't need to bother with ati-drivers. I found the solution from the Gentoo Forums just now. Actually, my card is supported by opensource drivers all the way. Just put the following things in kernel: radeonfb with ddc support, AGP support for my chipset and DRM (DRI) support for radeon. All compiled in (not as modules), which   
is different from the handbook.
